Su historia es muy conocida gracias al cronista <a href=\"www.aache.com\/alcarrians\/layna.htm\"><strong><em>D. Francisco Layna Serrano<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, que public\u00f3 un libro imprescindible y delicioso, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aache.com\/layna\/layna1.htm\"><strong><em>Guadalajara y sus Mendozas<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>El maestro aporta datos muy interesantes. A modo de ejemplo, el <strong><em>primer Mendoza<\/em><\/strong> que se afinca en Guadalajara (en el c\u00e9ntrico barrio de Santiago) lo hace por amor a\u00a0 <strong><em>Do\u00f1a Juana de Orozco<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0 oriunda de<a href=\"http:\/\/www.laveredadepuebla.com\/rutasypueblos\/belena.pdf\"> Bele\u00f1a de Sorbe<\/a> y heredera de la muy rica familia Orozco.<\/p>\n<p>Don <strong><em>Gonzalo Y\u00e1\u00f1ez de Mendoza<\/em><\/strong>, montero mayor de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artehistoria.jcyl.es\/historia\/personajes\/5081.htm\">Alfonso XI<\/a>, se casa con la nieta del <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.laveredadepuebla.com\/2009\/10\/05\/comunes-en-la-ribera-de-villa-y-tierra\/\"><strong><em>Se\u00f1or de Bele\u00f1a<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, Juan Fern\u00e1ndez Valdes.
